Testing

Plot of the number of PCR tests completed per day, alongside the number of new positive cases recorded.

The timeline begins at July 1st, 2020, the date The Bahamas 'opened'. Prior to this date, no significant testing was carried out. It is assumed, but not confirmed, that the figures provided by the Ministry of Health, relate to the date the test results were received, and catalogued, not the date the specimen was taken or tested. Rapid Antigen tests are not included

DATA NOTES

2022-03-02: The Ministry of Health and Wellness advises the public of a data cleaning exercise that updates the active and recovered cases on the 28th February, 2022 Edition of the COVID-19 Report using the prevailing scientific data. With this new information in mind, patients on the active list before 9th February, 2022, can be considered recovered and will be removed from the active list.

2021-04-19: A data cleaning exercise allocated 347 cases previously marked "Pending Location" to their respective islands. The Ministry of health did not release dates for each case/island, so we are unable to allocate them on the correct dates.

2020-09-27: No data was released to the public for Sunday 27th September. It is assumed the data released on September 28th combines both days.

2020-08-28: Data Adjustments were made by Bahamas Ministry of Health to move 10 of the COVID19 related deaths recorded to a state of "Under Investigation".

2020-08-23: Data Adjustments were made by Bahamas Ministry of Health to account for duplicates and anomalies. These may be reflected by negative values in the charts below.
